Sunburn is a burn to living tissue such as skin or leaves produced by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly from the sun 's rays. Sunburn may also occur from exposure to other UV light sources such as solaria or tanning salons.

Sunburn symptoms:
Minor sunburn will result in mild redness, itching, rashes. Touching that area can be painful.
Sunburn in a light-skinned person may occur within 15 minutes of exposure to sun. Pain reaches its peak 6 to 48 hours after exposure.
Swelling in the skin with the legs being the most common.
Sunburn Treatment:
It is easier to prevent sunburn than to treat them. If you get sun burnt, your doctor may ask you to apply steroid creams at regular intervals and may give aspirin tablets.
Indian Aloe - The Indian aloe, more commonly known as the aloe vera, is a good sunscreen while going out on the beach. Its paste must be applied on the skin before going out into the sun. It is a natural barricade to the harmful rays of the sun.
Apply lanolin lotion to the skin before going out in the sun. This will act as a sunscreen and prevent your skin from the sunburns.
Distilled vinegar or apple cider vinegar is the next best thing. You can put the vinegar into a bath and soak or put some in a spray bottle, and just spritz all over the burned area of your body. Do not rub it in, but let it air-dry.
Soak a soft cloth in yogurt or simply apply it on the area affected by sunburn. Leave it on until it dries (this will happen soon after you apply it due to skin's increased temperature) and rinse it off with cool water. Repeat if necessary.
Dilute 1 part of tea tree oil with 10 parts of olive oil and dab freely on the skin.Tea tree oil wonderfully soothes the skin and prevents sunburn itching and peeling.
Tea without sugar helps to sooth and relief some of the discomfort of sunburned skin. It is one of the best home remedies for sunburn.
